I am particularly called to catalyze the leadership of senior AfroLatina leaders in Tech, Design, Education and Entertainment. They release tears of chaos and burnout to dance into their Purpose with clarity, impact and focus.
When the pandemic hit, one of the leaders in my organization at the time, looked me square in the eye and said, “I’m built for this.” Her entire life’s challenges had forged an internal strength and faith that remains unshakable in the light of impossible. She was unbothered. She led with grace, kindness, resilience, laser focus. She got us all through. She reminded me immediately of my mother, who when her son was drowning lept into the lake and got him out – not knowing herself how to swim. We need more of her in the world.
There are no words to express the pressure that women, Latine people and Black people feel. Every day diamonds are created in these leaders as they thrive under socio-political pressure and DEI and Belonging backlash. Coaching catalyzes the amazing things AfroLatina leaders, who hold these three identities, are doing on behalf of all of us in the world. Work Well Groups is here to catalyze great leaders.
My 600 day streak of meditation, dance studies with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, acting training to step in empathy into others’ points of view, training for triathlons and running half marathons, studies of Organizational Psychology, leading human resources at small founder-led organizations in various industries, and learnings from large corporations, helps me run with AfroLatina leaders as they build their leadership practice.
I’m also an ICF ACC credentialed and Certified Positive Intelligence Executive Coach based in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. I’m living my purpose to coach intersectional leaders to realize their authentic leadership in organizations, bringing the promise of diversity to life sustainably. And I’ve touched over 100 lives through my coaching.
